Safe footwear should prevent slipping, nails or sharp objects penetrating the sole or heavy items injuring the foot if dropped during movement or fitting.
These shoes are readily available to purchase online from websites like Amazon for as little as £8.99 a pair however most people have shoes already in their possession such as the ones shown below in the top 2 rows which negates the need to buy anything new.
Examples such as those shown on the top 2 rows are acceptable at ALL times during build up and break down.
To be clear you DO NOT have to purchase steel toe capped boots if you already have alternative footwear in your possession as shown in the top 2 rows of images above.
Trainers/sports shoes will only be permitted AFTER 2pm on the last day of build, examples of which are below:
Examples shown below are STRICTLY NOT acceptable footwear at ANY TIME. You will not be granted access to the hall wearing soft soles, such as a tennis shoe, high heels or open toed sandals at ANY time during build up and break down.
These safety footwear guidelines are applicable for ALL contractors and exhibitors wishing to enter the halls during a build-up or breakdown.
As Organisers, it is UBM’s policy to manage the show in accordance with best industry practices, our own health and safety standards alongside current UK legislation such as the Construction Design & Management Regulations 2015.
UBM has a minimum PPE requirement for onsite at ALL of our events - this requires all personnel to wear suitable & sufficient safe footwear & a hi-vis jacket.
The max height for all single storey stands is 4m, unless stated otherwise in your contract.
Shell Scheme exhibitors are required to complete Shell Scheme Name Board Form found in the Technical Manual.
Deliveries can only be made during our tenancy times and only If you will have someone present on your stand to receive your goods.

If you will not be onsite to receive your goods, our official contractor, GES Logistics, offer a courier service. If they are able to receive goods they will do so on your behalf and keep in it storage until you arrive on site.

How to Visit
In the Partner Portal which can be found in the Exhibitor Zone/E-Zone.
A member of your team (likely your Marketing Manager) will have the link, username and password to access the E-Zone.
You can order contractor badges by accesing the E-Zone and then the Technical Manual. The form to make this order is in the "Forms" section.
Exhibitors can gain access to the exhibition hall on the build and break down days using their exhibitor badges – they do not need to register for contractor badges.
Contractor badges are ONLY for the designated build and break down days. These badges should only be ordered if the exhibiting company have external personnel working on the stand during these days.
Yes, there is parking at ExCeL.
- There isn't any pre-bookable parking at ExCeL
- Pay and display is required, during any days parking, including build up and break down.
- Vans and bigger vehicles are FOC during build up and break down, but will be charged during Ecobuild's opening hours.
- ExCeL do not charge for parking per hour, all rates are a flat 24 hour rate. Find out more here.
