Be inspired by Axter (Stand S2700) to design roof spaces that generate electricity, contribute to bio-diversity, provide wildlife habitats or amenity spaces.
For all these options Axter offers waterproofing designs that give environmental benefits and achieve cost-effective, secure projects.
At Ecobuild Axter will launch the unique General Fix® non penetrative roof fastening system suitable for PV amorphous modules, crystalline panels and other roof equipment. It is easy to install and is designed to anchor all types of plant securely without ballast, while preserving waterproofing integrity and allowing equipment removal for maintenance.
Visitors will see the MCS accredited General Solar PV high performance roof finish, now installed on several UK developments. It embeds thin film, amorphous photovoltaic cells into the surface of bituminous roof waterproofing and generates electricity even in low light conditions. There will be a chance to hear Axter's CPD on photovoltaics at Ecobuild on Wednesday 21 March.
Axter's living roofs offer wide ranging design possibilities: Hydrolite lightweight green roof, particularly suitable if weight loading is at a premium; bio-diverse (Hydrosoil); brown (Hydrobrown); seed (Hydroseed) and pre-planted extensive (Hydropack).
Roof design is complex and from drawing board to final handover Axter’s technical experts get involved, providing free consultations, specifications, drawings, site inspections and long term guarantees on renovation and new build projects.

Axter launches unique roof plant fastening system
Axter General Fix® - unique anchoring device for fixing PV amorphous modules, crystalline panels and other roof mounted equipment At Ecobuild 2012 Axter will be launching GENERAL FIX®, a unique, patented, non penetrative fastening system suitable for fixing plant, including photovoltaic panels and modules, to roofs. Based on the Velcro® Brand Hook and Loop principle, General Fix® tolerates heavy-duty stress in a few square centimetres. It is easy to install and is designed to anchor all types of plant securely without ballast. The underlying philosophy of the system is to preserve the integrity of the waterproofing, regardless of type, and to allow the removal of the photovoltaic panels / modules or other plant for easy maintenance. A range of stainless steel and aluminium accessories is also available. For many years Axter has specialised in the design and manufacture of high quality and fully integrated robust membranes for roofing and the waterproofing of basements and civil engineering structures to suit a variety of aesthetic and performance criteria. Through early involvement in the design of a building, Axter’s technical experts become part of the project team, promoting through innovative materials the importance of health and safety and reduction of build and lifetime maintenance costs. To assist designers Axter provides a free, bespoke design and specification service for renovation and new build projects, including drawings, independent site inspections and long-term guarantees. Generate electricity with Axter General Solar PV
On stand S2700 at Ecobuild 2012 Axter will show the benefits of General Solar PV integrated waterproofing. This is a high performance bituminous roof waterproofing incorporating photovoltaic cells on its upper surface. It is an effective and aesthetic system allowing building owers to produce clean electrical energy. General Solar PV modules are approved under the Microgeneration Certification Scheme and can benefit from the Government’s feed-in tariff on buildings achieving an Energy Performance Certificate C. Though less advantageous than the original scheme, the current tariff should still produce a rate of return of 4.5 to 5%. Axter has installed General Solar PV, on a number of developments in and around London. For full details and costings or to book a RIBA approved CPD seminar on this topic, contact Axter on 01473 724056, email info@axterltd.co.uk or visit www.axter.co.uk.
Axter rooflights - creating natural light, ventilation and smoke evacuation

Axter's modular green roof system on award winning building
Everything Office chose Axter's Hydropack green roof for their new premises "The Greenhouse", a development which won Construction and Renovation category of The National Energy Efficiency Awards 2008. The green roof provides better insulation and harvests rainwater for the toilets and gardens. All elements of an extensive green roof for flat or pitched roofs are contained within the trays which are easy to transport and simple to install. With Axter's systems there is virtually no limit to green roof design. Axter will be showing a number of green roof constructions on Stand S2700 at Ecobuild, encouraging designers to use roof space to maximum benefit. Axter Hydrolite extensive green roof on Reconomy Alibone Recyling Centre
The Axter Hydrolite sedum specification met Reconomy's requirement for a living roof on their environmentally sensitive flagship recycling centre. The plant now has a large sedum roof and on the strength of the site's green credentials Reconomy has won a contract from Penguin Books for an extension of the facility. The Hydrolite green roof is a lightweight system and is one of the many extensive and intensive green roof designs offered by Axter. A typical build-up of this and other Axter green roofs will be on view on S2700 at Ecobuild, including bio-diverse (Hydrosoil), brown (Hydrobrown), seed (Hydroseed) and Hydropack, the pre-planted modular green roof. A RIBA approved CPD seminar is available on green roof design. For more details call the Axter team on 01473 724056 or visit www.axter.co.uk.
