online profile

The Academy of Urbanism is an autonomous, politically independent, cross-sector organisation formed in 2006 to expand urban discourse.

The Academy brings together a diverse group of thinkers, decision-makers and practitioners involved in the social, cultural, economic, political and physical development of our villages, towns and cities, and is an active membership organisation.

The Academy seeks to identify, promote and disseminate lessons about great urbanism.

During Ecobuild at 12.30 on the afternoon of 22 March, we will be holding a seminar featuring the finalists our Great Town Award for 2012; Bury St Edmunds, Derry~Londonderry and Totnes. Join us to learn from these invigorating, forward-thinking places by reviewing lessons from their past and plans for the future.

The seminar is titled Towns in Transition, and can be found in the 'Sustainability and the City' stream.
