This year at Ecobuild, Renewable Building is running a one day discussion forum to explore the environmental and performance benefits of bio-based building materials. The morning session will focus on case studies and performance issues and the afternoon session will focus on compelling arguments for policies to support the wider use of natural materials.
The format of the workshop is designed to encourage lively debate. The expert panel will consist of academics and key players from the renewable building products sector with specific expertise on key issues such as Passiv Haus, breathability, internal air quality and embodied carbon.
John Williams, Polymers and Material Manager, NNFCC, and Gary Newman, Chair, Renewable Building, will introduce the sessions.
The session chairs will be Professor Tom Woolley, Architect, Centre for Alternative Technology and Alison Pooley, Senior Lecturer, Centre for Alternative Technology.
