TRADA timber tours

Guided tours around the Ecobuild exhibition will highlight the latest innovations in timber and timber-related products, with TRADA Technology specialists providing an expert commentary on the technical and regulatory drivers behind them.

RIBA CPD sessions

For the first time, RIBA CPD sessions will be taking place at Ecobuild. 
 
A full programme, over three days, this is an unique opportunity for all construction andCpd2d design professionals to gain up-to-date knowledge and enhance personal proficiency in a wide range of subjects, as well as earn CPD points from some of the top companies in their field.

  • All sessions are accredited under the RIBA CPD Core Curriculum
  • Each session is one hour, and you can book as many separate sessions per day as you wish

RIBA CPD sessions at Ecobuild are free to attend.  Details of the programme will be available from mid-February.


Building on the Olympics

BREEAM awards

Back at Ecobuild for a third consecutive year, the BREEAM Awards recognise the highest scoring buildings under BREEAM. Over 200,000 buildings are now certified and last year saw one of the highest levels of new registrations – a real success story in the face of a challenging economic climate.

The 2012 awards will cover a number of sectors including offices, healthcare, schools and further education, industrial buildings and retail. There will also be awards under BREEAM In-Use for existing buildings and a number of international categories.

Winners will be announced at Ecobuild on Tuesday 20 March at 17.00 on Breeam Green Web
level 1 of the Platinum Suite.

Landscape Architecture - inspiring great places

2012 is an inspiring year for landscape. The Olympic Park will command the world’s attention throughout the summer, Granary Square will revolutionise the heart of King’s Cross and a brand new Leicester Square will see the profession at its most creative.

At Ecobuild 2012, the Landscape Institute, the professional body for landscape architecture will launch its first guide for clients. And to celebrate, a one day conference will showcase the best of the landscape profession by exploring these themes:

Winners of the 2011 Wood Awards – the UK’s premier awards for wood in buildings Wood Awards Blueand furniture - will be showcased at Ecobuild including the Rothschild Foundation’s building for the Alice Trust which took gold in the structural category.

European B2B matchmaking event

Enterprise Europe South-East will be hosting a B2B matchmaking event during Ecobuild, focusing on sustainable design, eco-technologies, new building materials and technologies, and systems and equipment using alternative energy sources.

Through a series of one-to-one pre-arranged meetings, participants will meet potential commercial and technology partners from all over Europe. Meetings will take place in South Gallery rooms 25 & 26.Een Logo Only Colour

UKTI focus on international opportunities

UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) is the Government organisation that helps UK businesses succeed in international markets and will be running events at Ecobuild which focus on international opportunities.

The UK-GBC will be hosting a programme of events in their ‘big tent’ on the exhibition floor, including:

Innovative ways to recycle carpet

Carpet UK will be showcasing innovative new ways to reuse carpet materials and offcuts every day on their stand at Ecobuild plus a detailed one-day seminar programme which will consider the latest process for treating recovered carpet as a rich new resource for novel products and high-end applications, including:

  • Innovative construction products from carpet fibres
  • Design for recycling and designing products with recycled content
  • Carpet tile reuse and recycling 

Carpet UK’s showcase takes place on all three days on stand S20.  The seminar takes place on Thursday 22 March in South Gallery 8.

The Strategic Forum for Construction’s guide to water efficiency in construction

Join The Strategic Forum for Construction (SFfC) for an introduction to water efficiency in construction.  This session is based around the recent publication of simple guidance and training materials for best practice in delivering reduced water use on sites, working towards a 20% improvement on 2008 baseline.
