The Strategic Forum for Construction (SFfC) Water Subgroup has been working to support the construction industry achieve a target of reducing water use on site by 20% compared to a 2008 baseline. The last year has seen emphasis given to identifying and promoting efficient practices and behaviours on sites and has resulted in the publication of simple guidance and training material that are available for use throughout the industry. This session will cover the background to developing these documents as well as detailed information on how to reduce water use on sites, and introduce the new materials available. We will also see how well the industry is doing in meeting the Target water use reduction and take a look ahead to see what the Water Subgroup has planned next to support the industry in further reducing water consumption.
