This is your chance to hear from international companies looking to source UK goods and services and to hear about active major construction projects in the pipeline where there might be opportunities for UK companies to get involved.
International buyers and key decision makers from reputable companies from China, Russia, Brazil, India, Hong Kong, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Mexico and USA are attending the Meet the Buyer Ecobuild 2012. Organised by UK Trade and Investment, these 15 minute introductory meetings will give you the chance to discuss business opportunities in these overseas markets with a view to increasing your export sales.
There is also the opportunity to meet with UKTI Commercial Officers based in our Embassies and Consulates around the world. These market experts can offer first- hand knowledge and experience of overseas markets to UK companies looking to sell their products overseas – market entry, challenges, opportunities, local business culture and best practice. Alternatively if you would like to discuss how UKTI can help you develop your international business activities, there will also be the chance to meet members of the UKTI Construction and Global Infrastructure team and some of our International Trade Advisers. These advisors can offer free advice, guidance and assistance on all aspects of international trade to UK companies and outline the packages of support that Government and other partners can provide, whether you are a new or experienced exporter.
Tuesday 20 MarchThere are tremendous opportunities for UK organisations to deliver and inform low carbon development in China. This session will provide an opportunity to find out more about the high profile Beijing Green Building Park which is part of the BRE Innovation Parks Network. The workshop will demonstrate the opportunities for UK companies to get involved in the park and support the delivery of China’s low carbon built environment.
Wednesday 21 MarchGreen building and sustainable construction has become increasingly important in Brazil being driven by society, investors and consumers. The Brazilian construction industry is shifting rapidly and developers, construction companies and building material outlets are incorporating sustainability into their business dealings. This session will explore not only the wider infrastructure opportunities in Brazil but also the construction programme for the development of the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, seen as a key driver to opening up a wide range of opportunities for UK companies.
Wednesday 21 MarchThe Indian government plans an investment of £600 billion over the next few years in urban infrastructure and regeneration projects from water supply, sewerage, waste management and urban transport systems, to low cost affordable housing. This session outlines the opportunities in this dynamic market and the support available from UKTI and their partners to UK businesses.
Thursday 22 MarchCity living is becoming an increasingly important part of global society as the population grows and continues to migrate from rural areas. With these changes comes increasing pressure on resources and the environment but also opportunities for UK companies in the water, waste management, air pollution control and associated environmental services. This session will explore the issues and highlight where future opportunities exist.
