The industry's stage

Positioned at the heart of the event and central to the knowledge programme is the ecobuild conference.

The 2018 ecobuild conference will examine the challenges, identify emerging best practice and the necessary quality and performance standards to propose an action plan for a resilient and responsible future.

Surrounding the ecobuild conference will be curated areas, shining a light on true innovation and demonstrating the different ways in which disciplines within the built environment sector approach sustainability.

The focus for 2018...

Meeting our obligations to deliver the UN Sustainable Development Goals, the Paris Agreement and the New Urban Agenda

In 2015, the United Kingdom Government signed up to the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) both at home and in its work abroad and the Paris Climate Agreement. The New Urban Agenda (Habitat III) provides the framework for delivering the SDGs in urban environments. There are significant challenges in these global commitments.

For the built environment a concerted, collaborative and competently led effort by all working in this key area will be needed to deliver these goals effectively for the benefit of all and will require a radical review and approach to how we manage our economy, resource limits, energy use, society and behaviour, and, of course, how we protect the natural world.

The 2018 ecobuild conference will examine the challenges, identify emerging best practice and the necessary quality and performance standards to propose an action plan for a resilient and responsible future.

This conference programme has been developed in response to discussion and feedback from a cross-disciplinary industry steering group and a wider online survey.
