Dulux Champions Improvements to School EnvironmentsThursday 7 September
The Dulux Smarter Spaces initiative was established to help schools thrive based on the belief that a vibrant space that utilises effective colour and design can help inspire teachers and students alike – a view backed up by 85% of teachers according to a recent Dulux study. The research also revealed that a staggering two thirds of schools in the UK lack the funding to make basic refurb improvements.
The Dulux Smarter Spaces team works in partnership with schools to find the best solution for their particular needs, from making sure they are matched with a quality decorating contractor to ensuring every aspect of the project is smoothly managed. Offering expert colour and design expertise, the service helps schools get the most out of their environment within their budget and allows teachers and head teachers to focus on running the school.
Led by Dulux Smarter Spaces Ambassador Matthew Burton of Educating Yorkshire fame, who is now Assistant Head Teacher at Thornhill Community Academy in Dewsbury, this year’s initiative will see one primary school and one secondary school win a colour and design transformation to revitalise and refurbish their learning environment.
Becky Orton, Senior Brand Manager for Dulux Smarter Spaces, comments: “We’ve been working in partnership with schools across the country for several years to create learning spaces that are not only inspiring and stimulating, but also meet the needs of the busy school environment. Over that time we’ve developed expert decoration and design packages which can be fully tailored to any school’s needs and budget.”
