Architect wanted to help transform part of ecobuildMonday 20 November
ecobuild and the RIBA, in conjunction with Rockpanel and ROCKWOOL, have launched an open call for an architect to help transform a space at ecobuild 2018. This competition offers a unique opportunity to showcase creativity and ingenuity at the number one event for forward-thinkers in the built environment.
The 90m2 space will be located in the Building Performance district, next to the main seminar area. The aim is to create a vibrant architect-designed bookshop, lounge and meeting space. It will be used to promote the RIBA brand, the benefits of membership and to sell relevant architecture publications.
Designs should include a seating area and meeting space for approximately 16 people, with furniture provided free of charge by a high quality manufacturer. The space will benefit from improved acoustic architectural design to dampen surrounding noise. This will be achieved by incoporating the latest Rockpanel and ROCKWOOL products.
Martin Hurn, managing director of ecobuild owner Futurebuild Events Ltd, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for an architect to really put their creative stamp on a key space at ecobuild. The Building Performance district looks far beyond the construction and design of buildings. It considers the wellbeing agenda across new build, refurb and retrofit projects.”
A fee of £7,500 + VAT is available to the winning practice and a budget of up to £10,000 + VAT is available for the installation. This competition is open to all RIBA Chartered Members and RIBA Chartered Practices and architects have until 2pm on 30th November to submit entries. More details can be found here.
